Manager Financial Reporting

Position Title: Manager Financial Reporting

Work Location: Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Accountant to work in an innovative and fast paced environment. Reporting to the Financial Controller, managing a small team, this is a hands-on role which leads accounting processes for the Group statutory and management reporting function.

Key accountabilities will include:

• Preparation of statutory financial and internal management reporting.
• Understanding and application of relevant accounting standards (IFRS).
• Management and coordination of month end processes.
• Preparation of technical accounting papers, accounting advice on new transactions/accounting for new transactions.
• Coordination and review of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Working closely with external and internal auditors.
• Implementation and customisation of accounting information systems.
• Working closely with senior leaders to provide financial insight critical to decision-making.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the financial accountants within the team (team of 5).

Qualifications and skills required:

• Demonstrated experience leading a team
• Very strong understanding of technical financial accounting
• CA or CPA qualification and SAP experience essential 
• Systems mindset
• Commercial experience in bulk commodity/resources
• High attention to detail and good ability to liaise and communicate with stakeholders
