Manager First Nations Strategic Planning
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.
Roster: Monday – Friday
A new role in the First Nations team, the Manager, First Nations Strategic Planning will lead a strategic approach to planning, incorporating traditional custodian capacity and business priorities to give a clear line of sight to the business. You will work closely with the cultural heritage, approvals, operations, and project planning teams to deliver integrated plans for communication across the business, identifying opportunities to optimise how we present and communicate this information to all levels.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading a strategic approach to planning across the First Nations team to deliver against business priorities.
- Overseeing development and maintenance of heritage and broader traditional custodian group schedules which incorporate traditional custodian capacity and Fortescue priorities to provide clear line of sight to senior leaders.
- Being the link between the First Nations team and the business mine planning and projects functions including decarbonisation.
- Communicating and presenting planning information to different levels of the business, including teams within First Nations and to senior leaders.
- Assist cultural heritage team in presenting mine plan information from LOM to 2 Year Mine plan
- Work closely with internal approvals planning function to review and prioritise heritage work based on 5 Year and LOM sequence.
- Work with site Operations Planning managers & Strategic Planning managers to understand First Nations considerations and maximise progress.
As a successful candidate you will have the following:
- Experience in mine planning, mine design and project development
- Strategic and innovative thinking capability and a willingness to apply a creative approach to challenges.
- Experience managing a team and communicating for influence with internal and external stakeholders
- Some understanding of traditional custodians within the Pilbara is desirable.
