Fixed Plant (OPF) Manager

Work Location:

  • Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth or Monday to Friday

As a key member of our leadership team  at the Christmas Creek mine site you will be responsible for leading a safety culture and set consistent expectations, ways of working and execution of production processes to enable compliance to plan and performance

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Ensuring the safe, effective, efficient operation and maintenance of two Fixed plants with combined capacity of over 50mtpa
  • Implementing the business plan within the OPF Production department, including initiatives relating to Safety, People and Operations.
  • Improving safety culture and performance through visible safety leadership.
  • Enhancing a work environment where employees, contractors and labour hire are engaged, living the Fortescue values and feel they can make a difference.
  • Coaching and developing the future leaders of the OPF Production department, securing our pipeline of talent, both for short- and long-term requirements.
  • Collaborating with the Engineering, Mining, Safety, Fortescue People, Commercial, and other corporate departments to ensure delivery of the business plan.

Skills, experience and attributes:

  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely with exceptional listening skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with experience developing a cohesive and high-performing team.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large Operational and Maintenance teams
  • Fixed plant processing environment experience.
  • Qualification/Degree in Processing, Metallurgy or equivalent preferred.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Budget preparation, cost control and reporting experience.
