Manager Fortescue People - Exploration
Work Location: Perth, with travel as required
Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
Reporting to the Director - Exploration, this role is responsible for providing comprehensive Human Resources support to the Exploration team locally and globally with the initial focus on establishing an international team. You will also be responsible for executing the Human Resource strategy to support the overall business plan and strategic direction.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Work closely with senior management to develop policies and procedures, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance for the local and international countries.
- Provide guidance to senior management on local and international Human Resource related matters including hiring, onboarding, visas, separation/termination, performance management, as well as employee relations and organisational policy.
- Partner with the General Manager Employee Relations to design and implement employee relations strategies in new locations, both nationally and internationally, including but not limited to, Terms & Conditions agreements, collective agreements and amendments as required.
- Partner with the Global Remuneration team to establish and implement international employee remuneration and benefits framework for local and expat employees including relocation; allowances coordinate on-boarding and orientation; as well as coordinating end-of-assignment (repatriation) processes.
- Work with leaders to ensure proper administration of benefits and allowance, payroll data, and changes employee information.
- Monitor and advise key stakeholders on all international changes in labour laws, both federal, state, and local level.
- Demonstrate Fortescue values and practices by utilising effective management and leadership principles.
- Respond to and investigate employee grievances and conflicts and work closely with Employee Relations team.
- Oversee annual performance evaluations.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Degree in Human Resources Management or relevant field.
- Substantial experience in Human Resource management including some experience at management level.
- Experience in Exploration or start up environment is advantageous.
- Experience in International Human Resources is highly regarded.
