About the Role
We are seeking a Manager Global Business Services (GBS) HR to support our Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO) and Nickel West (NiW) operations. Reporting to the VP GBS HR, this role is accountable for the integrated delivery of core HR Services including workforce planning, source to onboarding, movements, terminations, complex payroll and escalation resolution.
Core Accountabilities
- Leading, growing and developing a highly skilled large team of operational HR Practitioners.
- Driving partnership and engagement with senior leaders (GM and above) to understand pain points and working with the relevant teams to prioritize improvement.
- Identifying and planning upcoming HR operational activities in collaboration with leaders and HR Sub-Functions
- Managing communications with senior stakeholders and driving alignment of expectations with turnaround times and experience based on performance.
- Managing the end-to-end Delivery team including working collaboratively and partnering with Accenture to continually uplift operational performance and capability.
- Synthesizing insights through the analysis of operational performance data and preparing presentation materials for the Executive and Senior leaders.
- Partnering and maintaining relationships with key asset stakeholders such as Asset Planners, HR Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners to operationalize strategic workforce and operational plans with appropriate forecasting and application of resources to ensure effective delivery of business needs.
- Managing commercial and performance elements of the Accenture partnership within the end to end as relative to your asset, along with various vendors that provide additional services (Medicals, Criminal background checks etc.) for value chain optimization.
- Having a continuous improvement mindset to partner with Experience Ownership and actively identify opportunities for improved customer experience.
- Drive and model BHP Operating System (BOS) behaviors and concepts, leading by example and supporting the embedment of BOS practices.
- Identifying and assessing risks, making risk informed decisions, using BHP's risk management framework and building a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
- Managing costs and budget associated with the operational day to day, as well as developing strategies for building productivity and returning customer value.
Location
Based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower "City Square" you will have stunning river views from our modern open plan office with state-of-the-art facilities. Including virtual whiteboards, and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbeques.

This position is open to visa sponsorship and relocation costs will be covered by BHP.

- Demonstrated track record of leading effective and efficient teams to deliver consistently high-quality outcomes for our customers.
- Strong understanding of Operational HR tools, processes and systems required.
- Experience in leading, identifying and delivering continuous improvement projects and activities.
- Strong process governance skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- BHP Asset or Customer Exposure / experience and senior stakeholder engagement / relationship management skills
- Demonstrated influencing and stakeholder management skills, including collaborating across multiple teams with conflicting priorities.
- Thinks strategically and translates this into operationalizing for improvement to customer experience, efficiency and effectiveness.
