About the Role
With deployments located across Australia, this is an exciting time to lead the Operations Services HSE team. This is a highly visible and influential role leading a team of HSE professionals supporting Operations Services to be the industry leading provider of mining services
The Operations Services (OS) HSE team provides HSE support to OS deployments across Minerals Australia (MAU) Assets supporting the effective management of HSE risk and enabling safety leadership. OS HSE supports the creation of a proactive culture through planning and the development of a “Culture of Care” to continuously improve HSE outcomes. At the heart of this are visible and fully engaged leaders and an enabled workforce. We believe that health and safety leadership, including field leadership activities, drives culture and culture drives health and safety outcomes for our people.
With a business partner mindset, balanced with a strategic yet pragmatic approach you will:
- Develop and lead a strong capable team across Minerals Australia assets to deliver effective HSE services to your operational customers;
- Provide subject matter expertise, advice and direction on all matters related to HSE;
- Review, develop and implement the HSE strategy alongside the OS lead teams;
- Support the delivery of Minerals Australia and Global HSE Strategy and key Asset HSE priorities;
- Through the HSE team cascade the strategy to operational level, tailoring to the context, risk and operating environment unique to each site / location;
- As a leader in the Functional Services HSE team maintain effective stakeholder relationships across OS, MAU HSE teams and the broader MAU assets and functions;
- Monitor OS’s HSE performance (including reporting) linking performance to HSE risk management and improvement initiatives;
- Develop the broader MAU OS HSE capability including the OS HSE team coaching capability.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Passion for health and safety and a culture of care;
- Experience leading teams creating an engaging and supportive performance culture;
- Proven stakeholder management capability;
- Understanding and successful implementation of change management and management of change;
- High level communication and influencing skills, including the ability to produce quality, concise reports and presentations;
- Strong influential and engagement skills to generate ideas and lateral solutions;
- Ability to lead by example; hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in “Health & Safety Leadership”.
