We are currently seeking an experienced Manager - HSEQ to lead a team and coach line managers in the development of HSEQ skill and competencies. Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager - HSEQT, you will be accountable for leading the implementation and monitoring of safety, health, environment and quality systems, strategies, and initiatives to effectively contribute towards the overall corporate HSEQ objectives and targets for the Macmahon business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health, Safety and Risk
- Ensure systems are in place to protect the personal safety, health and security of personnel travelling and working internationally
- Lead the implementation of safety, health, environment and quality systems, strategies, and initiatives to effectively contribute towards the overall corporate HSEQ objectives and targets for the Company
- Advise and provide recommendations for improvement opportunities in work process and contribute to the implementation of endorsed improvement initiatives
- Identification of emerging risk to the business and active participation in risk assessments
- Inspect workplaces, looking for any violations of federal, state, and local health and safety regulations, as well as for any potential threats to employees
Technical/Operational
- Monitor and analyse performance, systems, and processes to identify and prioritise improvement opportunities
- Auditing against internal and external standards
- Implement new initiatives of effectively manage risk across the business
- Active participation in investigations associated with critical incidents and high potential risk incidents
- Identification of emerging risk to the business and active participation in risk assessments
- Analyse incident trends throughout the organisation and provide advice to Senior Management on mitigating strategies
- Review and provide guidance on project HSEQ plans, objectives, and targets
- Develop the pipeline of talent for HSEQ professionals throughout the organisation
- Monitor and analyse performance, systems, and processes to identify and prioritise improvement opportunities
- Implement systems to ensure effective reporting and investigation of incidents and implementation of appropriate mitigating actions
- Manage the organisations crisis and emergency management systems
- Monitor the daily, weekly, monthly reports
Commercial/Financial
- Display comprehensive knowledge of contractual KPI’s and take necessary actions to ensure production and financial success
People Management
- Support and coach senior line management to develop HSEQ skills and competence
Team Contribution
- Liaise directly with client counterparts and foster confidence in Macmahon’s HSEQ Management System
- Engage and support the workers compensation representative on matters regarding injuries and illness
- Contribute towards the development of strategies, objectives, and targets to improve health, safety, environmental and quality performance throughout the organisations
- Assist with the preparation of Health and Safety related submissions for tenders and expressions of interest as required
- Assist with the planning, implementation, and review of third-party certification audits as well as internal audit and risk review requirements
