We are looking for a Manager Hydrogeology to lead a team to assess and mitigate water-related risks by providing hydrogeological and hydrological understanding through the safe collection and interpretation of water data.

Reporting to the General Manager Resource Development Iron ore, you will:
Drive delivery of the water strategy for RTIO.
Lead a team of SMEs to provide technical advice in the areas of hydrology, hydrogeology and water quality within the Resource Development team, supporting technical water programs for new mines, existing and closure.
Drive a best operator mindset, by developing the right metrics and qualitative assessments to measure performance, whether that be Hydrogeology program execution and/ or the impact of cultural change.
Remain adaptable and flexible in response to evolving circumstances or unforeseen challenges. Adjust strategies as needed while staying aligned with the overarching vision.
Lead by example by embodying our values of courage, care and curiosity.
Empower your team by fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement and learning.
Meet annual cyclical activities for compliance purposes.
Sustain networks externally with industry peers and academia to ensure that RTIO is adopting leading technical practices.
What you’ll bring
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Tertiary Degree in hydrology, hydrogeology or a related discipline and have a strong foundation in all aspects of water resource evaluation.
Demonstrated experience leading large teams.
Experience across different geographies and water-related disciplines.
Strong understanding of current mine water management best practices in data acquisition and interpretation.
Strategic thinking and numerical/analytical skills.
Agility, able to maintain perspective and switch between strategic and tactical priorities quickly
Judgement: able to identify and frame complex issues and opportunities quickly, and bring to resolution with a solid ethical framework
Strong communication skills. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills: ability to frame and convey complex messages to a range of stakeholders using a wide range of communication methods

Where you’ll be workingBased in the Perth CBD, Central Park, this role encourages agile ways of working, on a Monday – Friday roster. Regular travel to the Pilbara is required.
