About the Role

Reporting to the South Flank General Manager, this integral and impactful position is accountable for the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives for the site in addition to driving the continued maturity of the BHP Operating System (BOS)

Key Accountabilities for this position include:

  • Supporting the site leadership team in the delivery of the annual Integrated Operation Plan (IOP) through its development, shared ownership, and delivery of improvement initiatives 
  • Leading the site Improvement team in the development of the improvement pipeline and the delivery of site wide improvement program
  • Prioritising the application of BOS Principles and Practices to deliver Business Plan priorities across all pillars of performance 
  • Coaching the site leadership team to reinforce and sustain the BHP Operating System embedding appropriate mindsets and behaviours in our leaders and front line teams 
  • Support the ongoing development and maturity of BOS capability for site leaders and teams across all departments and the ongoing development of standardised work across all departments
  • Overseeing the planning, preparation and action planning for the BOS Operational Excellence Index (OEI) assessment processes including the monitoring of leader Role Confirmations, the self-assessment process and formal BHP OEI assessments 
  • Engaging and supporting the site endeavours with specific focus on Inclusion and Diversity, and Indigenous Support
  • Supporting the centralised onboarding program with a site specific focus

About You

  • Performance and achievement orientated, you work well under pressure bringing a high attention to detail and the consistent ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • An individual who is comfortable with ambiguity, complexity and delivering outcomes in a matrix environment using your collaboration, engagement, influence and coaching skills

Location

South Flank is a greenfield mine and brownfield processing centre created adjacent to and within the Mining Area C operation. Located approximately 130km north-west of Newman, South Flank together with Mining Area C will become one of the largest iron ore hubs in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore and will help maximise the volume and quality of BHP’s iron ore production, which is essential for the world’s steel.
