Our ePMO team are looking for a strategic and hands-on leader to step into a newly created role that goes beyond traditional program management.

As Manager IT Program Delivery, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of high-impact, secure technology initiatives across Rio Tinto’s global operations.

Reporting to the Senior Manager ePMO, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering significant, resilient and scalable platforms and technology capabilities that underpin our digital transformation. This role demands strategic foresight, technical fluency and the ability to lead in dynamic, multi-regional environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead global delivery of IT programs across AMEA, APAC, and beyond, ensuring alignment with enterprise security architecture and business priorities.

  • Champion hybrid delivery models, integrating agile, DevSecOps, and traditional methodologies to suit the complexity and risk profile of each initiative.

  • Drive secure-by-design principles, embedding cybersecurity best practices into every stage of the delivery lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Digital Products, Data-Reporting-and-Analytics, Technology Platforms, Cyber Security and Enterprise Architecture, to ensure cohesive and secure platform delivery.

  • Manage vendor and integrator relationships, ensuring accountability, performance, and alignment with security and compliance standards.

  • Navigate complexity and ambiguity, acting as a strategic problem-solver and escalation point for delivery risks, security concerns, and integration challenges.

  • Oversee governance and performance, including contract management, budget control, risk mitigation, and delivery metrics.

  • Build and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement in cybersecurity and platform delivery.

What you’ll bring

IT Program Delivery Expertise – Proven experience delivering secure, enterprise-scale technology platforms, infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives across global environments.

Strategic Leadership – Ability to lead cross-regional teams and programs, aligning delivery with business and security outcomes.

Hybrid Delivery Mastery – Deep understanding of agile, DevSecOps, and traditional delivery frameworks (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2), with practical experience using tools like Azure DevOps and MS Project.

Risk and Compliance Awareness – Strong grasp of global cybersecurity standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST), data privacy regulations and secure delivery practices.

Analytical Thinking – Data-driven decision-making with a focus on delivery performance, risk identification, and continuous improvement.

Vendor & Partner Management – Skilled in managing global system integrators and technology partners, with a focus on secure, outcome-driven collaboration.
