We are looking for a seasoned Manager - Learning Excellence to provide end to end oversight of all the learning enablers that support our employees to learn and grow. The role encompasses Business Planning, Strategy, Business Improvement, Risk Management, Learning Analytics & Technology, New Starter Onboarding and Governance & Assurance.

This is a senior role with the opportunity to lead the vibrant & energetic learning excellence team that supports our asset facing teams to deliver on learning and development priorities. This role is a great opportunity for a business manager with solid commercial acumen and demonstrated leadership experience.

Reporting to the General Manager – Capability Development and working in a collaborative community, you will be accountable for:

  • Actively fostering and communicating a positive culture that promotes and prioritises Psychological and Physical safety
  • Building agile business improvement and project management capability in the function to ensure sustained results and continuous improvement
  • Managing Learning Analytics, Reporting and Evaluation
  • Optimisation of the new starter onboarding program
  • Oversee the learning technology & digital strategy
  • Apply discipline, governance, and quality assurance across learning solutions
  • Develop strong interfaces and relationships with site facing teams and stakeholders
  • Oversee the design of end-to-end business improvement projects, providing thought leadership on maximising benefits and minimising implementation risks
  • Manage and coordinate annual and strategic planning for the Capability Development function

What you’ll bring

The key component of the role will require you to interface with multiple stakeholders, therefore your communication and relationship building skills are important to succeed in this role.

To be successfully considered for this opportunity, you’ll bring:

  • Business Improvement experience and qualifications (six sigma, Agile, Lean) and be tertiary qualified
  • A passion for people leadership and capability building
  • Demonstrated experience leading a large multi-discipline team, oppeness to learn and the ability to create a learning excellence model
  • Demonstrated operational experience and understanding of mining operations
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Commitment to Rio Tinto value drivers of Care, Courage, and Curiosity
  • Commercial acumen, stakeholder engagement and experience leading change
  • Strong problem solving and business process optimisation skills
  • Solid influencing skills and ability to develop and build credibility among peers

Where you’ll be working

You will be based at our head office located in Perth Central Park building, working Monday to Friday. We encourage agile and flexible work arrangements.
