Manager - Maintenance

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Manager to join the team at Byerwen Coal mine. Reporting to the Senior Site Executive/Project Manager onsite, the role is responsible for the continuing management of Maintenance Operations whilst maintaining relevant legislation.

About the Job

• Ensures implementation of, and adherence to, the Site Safety Health Management System & alignment to Macmahon and statutory HSEQ requirements across the Maintenance area
• Optimise site plant safety, maintainability, reliability, and availability by ensuring uses of best practises maintenance planning and scheduling techniques which comply with the Macmahon maintenance system.
• Drives continuous improvement and identification of growth opportunities across the business.
• Responsible for driving the maintenance implementation amongst the operations, maintenance, and procurement departments.
• To consolidate reports from subordinates to produce effective back-log plant asset management plan and implementation to ensure the accurate presentation of weekly and monthly reports.
• Responsible for the maintenance planning and execution team.
• Champion business improvement and optimisation activities to achieve maintenance and operational efficiencies.
• Support maintenance leadership to achieve site goals.
• Applies effective contract management to ensure maintenance operations are executed in line with contract and client requirements, whilst ensuring financial outcomes are maximised and risks are minimised.
• Ensure all significant production non-conformances to forecast or plan are investigated.
• Assist the Project Manager to review and monitor project budget and forecasts and provide updates to the Contract Manager/s Macmahon ELT as required.
• Display comprehensive knowledge of contractual KPI's and take necessary actions to ensure production and financial success.
• Build a competent, engaged and performance driven maintenance workforce and provides appropriate development opportunities to build internal capability.
• Ability to lead and motivate large maintenance teams to demand high standards of safety and maintenance performance.
• Ensure all maintenance personnel including contractors and client personnel operate compliant to the Site Safety Health Management System.
• Mentor and Coach maintenance personnel to ensure key role succession planning is in place.

About you

• 2-3 years' experience in a similar position within the coal industry
• S1, S2, S3, and G2 competencies
• Mechanical Trade background
• Manage and work with two direct reports - Maintenance Superintendents
• Current manual Drivers Licence
• Hold a current Coal Board Medical
• Current Standard 11
• Willing to undertake a National Police Check

Byerwen Mine is located approximately 20kms west of the town of Glenden in the northern Bowen Basin and is Macmahon's largest project on the east coast.
