Manager Maintenance Work Management Execution

The Opportunity – Permanent, Full Time Position

The newly created position of Manager Maintenance Work Management Execution will be responsible for designing the Global South32 approach for maintenance execution excellence and turnaround/shutdown management that would manage the material asset risk optimally across multiple operations. In this role you will have 3 direct reports and you will design and deliver work management control and safety critical equipment management to reduce exposure to catastrophic equipment failure by developing functional expertise, systems and tools and providing an assurance program to confirm their deployment across South 32 globally.

Reporting to the Group Manager Asset Management you will be responsible for:

• Designing the Global South32 approach to maintenance execution excellence and turnaround/shutdown management stewardship
• Influence Global stakeholders such as VPO’s, engineering/maintenance managers and functional leaders to achieve improvement in maintenance execution excellence, turnaround/shutdown management, work management control, safety critical equipment management and stewardship without having direct control of the scope and resources
• Creating a culture of care and accountability as an enabler to continuously learn and improve
• Ensure all work is well designed and guaranteed to deliver safe outcomes
• Be aware of risks associated with engineering governance and asset management and manage accordingly
• Create an inclusive and diverse environment and provide the platform so that every team member feels valued and aligns with S32 values
• Select, develop, coach and mentor employees so that they understand the value they impart to S32 business objectives
• Develop framework (standards, guidelines, systems) to ensure maintenance execution excellence and turnaround/shutdown management stewardship.
• Owns and governs SAP Work Management and Control processes and respective key performance indicators.
• Provide maintenance execution excellence and turnaround/shutdown related expertise across South 32 globally
• Implement and maintain the required information systems and reports to support effective maintenance execution excellence and turnaround/shutdown management decision making
• Ensure that all maintenance execution excellence and turnaround/shutdown management systems and processes comply with South32 mandatory regulations and standards
• Identify and communicate applicable internal and external regulations and standards across South 32 globally
• Providing assurance of delivery against these frameworks to reduce the possibility of catastrophic business impact
• Develop a network of discipline related expertise external to the business to enable seamless and cost- effective access to resources by the business

About You

• Relevant experience in a similar role, with a multi- disciplined project and/ or multinational corporate operational environment both domestically and internationally within the resources sector
• 10yrs operational experience and understanding of asset management systems, maintenance execution and practices to contribute/influence operational decisions on business improvement
• Ability to think strategically and influence business decisions within multi- functional lead teams
• Systems thinking that would enable execution of a System of Work.
• Demonstrated ability to build team, mentor/ coach team members resulting in improved engagement, diversity, and organisational capability
• Success in fostering a learning organisation across multiple operations globally.
• Demonstrated ability in consultative resolution of problems/issues/conflicts with internal and external stakeholders that foster mutual trust and respect
• Excellent verbal and written communication with people at all levels
• Able to lead change and adjust to it, effective in ambiguous situations.
• High achiever, inspired, upbeat, enthusiastic, and performance-oriented

Qualifications

• Discipline engineering tertiary qualification along with a preferred qualification on business management
