Senior Manager Mine Control and Systems
Work Location: Perth. Fortescue Centre
- Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday – Friday
This role leads a core capability of the Fortescue Hive, our integrated operations centre based in Perth. From the Hive, we remotely operate our world leading assets and infrastructure across five mines, including our fleet of autonomous trucks and drills, railway and Port operations.
We recently integrated our mine control and mining systems teams into one team, and are now looking for a leader who can deliver on improved performance and productivity and support the design of our future green mining operations. Working alongside key stakeholders, such as Mining Operations, Processing Control, Operational Technology and Planning, this is a wide ranging senior leadership role that helps influence and guide our mining operations with regards to productivity, safety and technology.
A new way of thinking is also required across all our operations to drive progress towards decarbonisation. Our plants and equipment will be powered by wind, solar, green hydrogen and green ammonia replacing existing diesel models. The Fortescue Hive will be at the epicentre, integrating operations with energy allocation. This role will play a key part in determining our future, green way of operating
Key responsibilities include:
- Mine Control and Drill Control functions across multiple operations
- Support and Improvements for our Autonomous Fleet
- Training for Autonomy
- Implementation of Technology Projects, including Non-Line of Sight equipment
- Strategic planning and design for Decarbonisation, particularly in relation to Mining Fleet, Control & Operations
Education and Experience:
- Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing strategies to foster the right culture within a team with measurable outcomes
- Have ability to work with multiple stakeholders to achieve required outcomes
- Strong understanding of Mining Productivity
- Experience in Mining Operations and Planning is essential
- Previous exposure to Mine Control functions is desirable
- A demonstrated passion for technology and continuous improvement
