About the role

We are looking for a Manager join our Paraburdoo leadership team and lead our Mining Operations teams to success.

Reporting to the General Manager, Paraburdoo and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will be:

  • Developing a performance-based culture according to our values of care, courage and curiosity which drives exemplary safety behaviours and stable operating outcomes

  • Ensuring the mine achieves a standard of excellence in health and safety operations and compliance by leading and implementing health and safety policies and strategies

  • Maintain an end-to-end oversight of the Production, Drill and Blast, Mine Water Management functions

  • Managing mine production functions to ensure budgeted production targets are achieved in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner

  • Ensuring the mine meets the operating budget requirements in the areas of quantity, quality, and cost of production

  • Actively involved in the development of the mine budget and annual plan

  • Evaluating and implementing best practice mining practices

  • In addition to the above, you will have a key focus on fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders and interfaces across our operational and functional teams along with external contractor, suppliers, and Traditional Owners

In addition to the above, you'll build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across our operational teams and functional support teams while externally, you'll work with our original equipment manufacturers.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in a managerial role within mine operations environment

  • Able to measure, record, analyse and report on all drill and blast activities to obtain plan, ensure compliance and optimise performance

  • Experienced in contributing to the development of a safety culture and ensuring relevant safety compliance as well as adherence to standards, processes and procedures for drill and blast operations

  • A WA unrestricted quarry manager certificate

  • Diploma in Mining or Frontline Management

  • Statutory Position Legal Exam – Site Senior Executive

  • Proven delivery experience in leadership and mine expansion projects, with a demonstrated safety focus

  • A degree in mining is highly desirable

Where you’ll be working

Located 80 kilometres southwest of Tom Price, Paraburdoo rests on the traditional lands of the Yinhawangka people. The town is surrounded by some of Western Australia’s most stunning landscapes and is renowned for its natural beauty, diverse wildlife, and close proximity to Karijini National Park.

Paraburdoo is a gateway to adventure and exploration, and the town is proud of its reputation as a safe, welcoming community and an ideal place for young families to live and thrive.

Paraburdoo offers a wide range of local amenities and leisure facilities, including a domestic airport, hospital, community centre, childcare centre, primary school, parks, and various sporting venues.

The Paraburdoo Sports, Fitness and Community Complex features state-of-the-art facilities such as an Olympic-size swimming pool, indoor basketball court, and a fully equipped gym. Recent upgrades have expanded the camp facilities to 762 rooms.

With the opening of the Western Range at Paraburdoo Operations, the site now has the capacity to produce up to 25 million tonnes of iron ore annually supporting the longevity of the Paraburdoo mining hub for up to 20 years.
