About the role
We are currently seeking expressions of interest for Manager Mobile Equipment Maintenance (MEM) opportunities supporting sites across Rio Tinto’s Pilbara Mine Operation.

You will partner with our Rio Tinto Safe Production System (RTSPS) team, which brings together the best practices from every corner of Rio Tinto and other industries. This role offers you an opportunity to manage more than just steady state operations. Reporting to the relevant site General Manager and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will be:
- Developing high performing maintenance teams and leaders
- Fostering collaboration in your teams to identify and deliver innovative value adding solutions in accordance with our Safe Production System
- Identifying opportunities to optimise and rationalise your mobile equipment assets
- Ensuring core asset management processes and practices are being applied
- Assessing and managing risks over asset lifecycle
- Partnering with subject matter expertise to drive high reliability outcomes and financial discipline
Importantly, you'll build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across our operational teams and functional support teams while externally, you'll partner with our original equipment manufacturers.
What you’ll bring

- Demonstrated ability to confidently manage large scale maintenance works, including shut down maintenance and budgeting
- Asset management or maintenance optimisation experience
- Leadership experience, including leading change
- Strong problem solving, strategic thinking and business process optimisation skills
- Solid influencing skills and ability to develop and build credibility among peers
- Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Current C Class manual driver’s license
Whilst exposure to heavy mobile equipment maintenance is desirable, we would be interested in hearing from individuals with leadership experience gained across other operational maintenance environments.
