About the Role
We are seeking a forward thinking and talented individual to take on the key role of Manager Operational Readiness –Smelter Refinery Expansion (SRE), as part of the Major Projects team in the Copper South Australia portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for a high-performing professional to work with a range of senior stakeholders where your contribution will have significant impact on the business. Reporting to the Program Director Commissioning & Operational Readiness, you will at first work autonomously, setting the strategic direction for the SRE project, early in the project lifecycle. You will then have the opportunity to build and lead a highly skilled and diverse team. As a leading contributor and key advisor, you will be enabling Operational Readiness to safely deliver the requirements of the SRE project. This will include the management of collaboration with both Project, Functional and Operational Teams, participation in project reviews and risk assessments and development of project Operational Readiness strategies. Travel between corporate offices and to the Olympic Dam Asset will be required. Key accountabilities include:
- Do what’s right and ensure an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental and community responsibility is maintained through Operational Readiness activities.
- Set the strategic direction for Operational Readiness activities, starting early in the Project lifecycle to define later stage planning and execution.
- Collaborate closely with Senior Project and Operational representatives to make a difference through the successful integration and ramp up of projects.
- Engage and integrate with each key Operational Readiness delivery partner to clearly define all operational readiness scope elements.
- Develop project specific Operational Readiness deliverables.
- Manage change effectively and efficiently to strategically enhance the team’s performance.
- Build strong internal stakeholder relationships, including Operational, Maintenance, Engineering and Technology teams.
- Work closely with the other project streams including Development, Delivery, Commissioning, Project Engineering and Quality to seek better and ensure portfolio synergies can be identified and leveraged.
- Identify risks and make risk informed decisions to maximise business outcomes.
About You
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Demonstrated major project Operational Readiness experience - delivering projects to site operations.
- Demonstrated Copper Smelting and Refining experience – Operations, Maintenance or Engineering preferred
- Project Management experience - leading teams and managing objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or relevant Trade.
- Ability to set strategic direction
- Effective communicator with the ability to engage with and resolve issues with all levels of the project and operation.
- A good understanding of the systems, processes and organisational capabilities required to handover, operate and maintain a new asset.
Location and Roster
You will be Adelaide based with site travel. Integrating with and working alongside the project team, as well as building key stakeholder relationships onsite will be critical. You will be working Monday-Friday, with flexible work opportunities.
