We are looking for a Manager Pastoral Stations to lead the Pastoral Stations team whilst providing technical advice and managing the capability and development needs of the team. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned leader to lead with impact, building strong and valuable relationships across the business whilst delivering value to the Pilbara community ensuring stations are utilised effectively minimising any environmental impact.

Reporting to the General Manager Communities & Social Performance and working in a collaborative community within CSP, you will be:

  • Working with the General Manager Communities & Social Performance to deliver against the Communities & Social Performance Strategic 5-year plan
  • Managing a team of functional and operational professionals to undertake complex technical/operational project delivery to ensure best practice land management and animal welfare is achieved.
  • Adapting departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges against the delivery of strategic projects (carbon storage, partnerships)
  • Strategically align the stations to Rio Tinto Iron Ore and broader industry net zero emissions requirements to through delivery of carbon avoidance, storage land management projects on stations
  • Overseeing the negotiations of third-party pastoral station agreements and ensure ongoing compliance with agreements, in conjunction with the CFO Agreements & Approvals teams
  • Working with Traditional Owner Engagement Leads, Environment Leads, Nature based Solutions, General Managers and Communities & Social Performance Business Partners to identify co-designed stations opportunities that deliver value to the local community and Traditional Owner groups 
  • Coach and develop direct reports in a values-based performance culture and actively manage their performance

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Experience within Agribusiness or Corporate Agricultural environments
  • Experience within Stations Management would be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Proven experience positively engaging with traditional owners
  • Proven experience in safety management and leadership 
  • Well-developed budget and project management
  • Proven oversight in innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement
