About the Role

As a Manager Performance, EVP and Projects, your main purpose is to drive BHP’s distinctiveness in the talent market through the development of a differentiated employee value proposition, distinctive experiences, a high-performance edge and other targeted projects relating to talent and performance.    Reporting to Vice President Talent and Performance, your core accountabilities include: 

  • Lead research and benchmarking to understand world class Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and experiences for global organisations and use to design (with team) a global EVP and experience strategy that can be disaggregated into BHP’s key employee segments (e.g., BHP’s most critical roles, leadership, new starters) to attract – and retain in - critical sites and functions. 
  • Lead the team that supports HRBPs and leaders to execute on these EVP, experience and performance uplift solutions, allowing for localisation where required while ensuring execution is true to core principles and guardrails. 
  • Oversee candidate marketing spend and execution, prioritising against BHP’s strategic priorities, strategic capabilities and growth areas, and ensuring that marketing is developed in collaboration with External Affairs (Brand and External Communications), aligned to the EVP and experience strategies to target key talent pools identified by Head of Talent (and team) - i.e. talent for critical roles, BHP’s most value accretive roles, scarce skills. 
  • Lead team to uplift BHP’s performance edge, through mechanisms that are experience-led and help leaders with individuals set stretching KPIs, clarify expectations of high performance, and differentiate performance outcomes.  This will include not only process and infrastructure build, but also interventions to build capability, mindsets and behaviors.  Deliver those interventions through HRBPs (and leaders, teams, individuals they support) and govern and improve the effectiveness of performance interventions. 
  • Oversee the delivery of performance insights to HRBPs, leaders, the talent, OD, culture and analytics team to inform talent identification, career planning, succession planning, org development and culture interventions. 
  • Identify, priorities and lead high priority Talent, Reward, TA projects that emerge to broaden capability and increase cohesion among T&P solutions. 

About You

As a successful candidate you will possess the following:    

  • Problem solving and strategic, innovative, expansive thinker who is comfortable creating thought leadership, and working in ambiguity and a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience leading and apprenticing a high performing team with diverse skills and experience.  Setting the pace, priorities and dynamic allocation of capacity to meet business needs. 
  • Have developed an end-to-end (or facets of an) employee value proposition (EVP), experience strategy or performance enhancement program before, or other related strategic interventions to deliver optimal business outcomes. 
  • Well versed and experienced in cut-through research, thought leadership development and benchmarking against other organisations to ensure BHP has world class and purpose-fit performance, EVP and experience solutions. 
  • Experience designing bespoke change programs - through understanding of current capabilities, mindsets, behaviours - for pragmatic execution through leaders and the HR community.  This may involve bespoke solutions for different employee segments of BHP. 
  • Senior stakeholder relationship building capabilities and written and oral communication skills to support credibility and influence at senior levels. 
  • Tertiary qualification in business, strategy, economics, human resources, or organisational psychology.
