Manager Planning and Analysis
Work Location: Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
In this role you will be responsible for providing planning and analytical insights to the Executive and Board, enabling key decisions and market guidance regarding capital management, major investments and group cashflow. Working closely across the FMG group to ensure accuracy of consolidated long-term forecasts as well as supporting the business case development of new mining hubs and major investments ($10m+). You will be the custodian of the long-term valuation model and support Strategic Planning in the development of the 10 year and life of mine modelling.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the Capital Allocation Management Group (CAMG) to provide strategic oversight on major investments and forward capital and cash flow requirements and consolidation of group financial statements forecasts
- Provide guidance on FMG cash management, including outcomes of potential dividend policies, growth strategies and decarbonisation.
- Advise Studies and Asset Management groups on major investments prior to Executive and Board approval and provide oversight for group capital management including highlighting potential risks and opportunities for FMG liquidity.
- Undertake Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) and report back to Executive and Board on findings, provide advice and guidance to address any gaps
- Responsible for group valuation and impairment modelling and creating and validating key financial metrics to run Life on Mine (LOM) scenarios.
- Work closely with senior management and investor relations to provide market guidance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A tertiary degree in a Business / Finance related field, post graduate qualifications are desirable.
- 15yrs+ experience, corporate finance, business planning or analytical in fast-paced organisation, preferably in resources, heavy industry, energy or infrastructure.
- Proven Expertise in group forecasting, planning and cash management, and leading and advising major investment decisions ($10m+) to ensure the greatest value to the organisation along with proven due diligence, valuation and commercial negotiation skills.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills and strong financial and commercial acumen and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
- Strong business writing and presentation skills, confidently able to present to senior decision makers and experience leading and working with cross functional teams to achieve outcomes, authentic leader.
- Resilient and self-managing with the ability to work autonomously, take initiative and reliably deliver on tight deadlines.
