About the Role

This high profile role will see you motivate and lead your team to safely deliver and achieve production, safety and compliance targets as well as driving productivity improvements and cost reductions. By motivating, inspiring, and collaborating with your team to safely deliver and achieve, the Production Manager will provide support to achieve Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), cost and volume performance through the effective execution and analysis of production activities.

This is not your typical Production Manager position, in this high profile role, you will truly be able to:

  • Lead change in traditional approaches to mining;
  • Set the right culture with the support of tools and systems to "walk the talk";
  • Drive organisational change;
  • Truly inspire people to engage and be part of a high performing team;
  • Be prepared to challenge the status quo;
  • Set a new high performance benchmark and;
  • Be able to focus on the exciting things about mining. In this role you will lead a team of Superintendents and their direct reports.

This position will enable you to use your technical experience and leadership skills to coach and mentor your team, drive best practice and truly make a difference to operational performance and setting new benchmarks. You will be a key decision maker and have strong influence in regards to how the team operates.

About You

You will have substantial experience in a leadership role and have significant experience within mining environments. You will also have had operational and technical experience in mining.

You will utilise your strategic and analytical mind, stakeholder management, as well as your excellent business acumen, to coach your team in order to drive productivity improvements and set new benchmarks in the industry.

Whilst being a strong advocate for change, you will also be a performance and achievement oriented professional who is motivated by exceeding expectations, inspiring others and able to use your relationship building and influencing skills in order to develop key relationships and drive outcomes. Exposure to the BHP Operating System (BOS), or a similar continuous improvement program, would be highly advantageous.
