About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, this is a role with a significant remit across large scale mining operations at BMA Coal to deliver safe and efficient production overburden outcomes.
This highly visible role will see you provide leadership and functional expertise in a broad range of areas and build a cohesive group through deep, foundational team development.
This role is based in Central Queensland with flexible commute or residential options available.
In this role you will:
- Ensure an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
- Build business partnerships and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders
- Positively shape culture in alignment with the BHP Charter Values
- Deliver a stable and optimised production
- Overseeing the strategic direction of the Production Overburden department
- Interfacing regularly with aligned departments to optimise safety, maintenance and production efficiencies
- Monitor operating costs ensuring that spend is controlled to the allocated budget
- Lead process improvement initiatives to support customer group by leveraging BOS practices
About You
- Relevant Tertiary Degree in related disciplines is advantageous
- Experience with Coal Mining, Truck and Shovels, CHPP, Mine Services, Pumping, Earthworks and large-scale production operating environments is required
- Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role in mining operations is required
- Contractor management and relationship management experience
- Experience leading a diverse team to deliver exceptional safety and operational outcomes
- Foundational leadership experience and engagement of teams that support high quality and engaged delivery
- Experience implementing continuous improvement strategies with financial and commercial acumen
