About the Role
This is an exceptional opportunity to join the senior leadership team at BHP Olympic Dam where you will provide leadership and oversight of the Refinery Production teams, inclusive of the Electro-refinery, Electrowinning, Precious Metals processing and refining, and Laboratory areas.
This role leads the refinery production teams to deliver our goals, enabling sustained high performance and continuous improvement.
This role is based at our Olympic Dam site and can be offered as FIFO ex-Adelaide or Residential, living in the Roxby Downs township.
In this role you will:

Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible and engaging safety leader, ensuring an overriding commitment to health, safety and risk management in all that you do.

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with the site-based adjacent and support teams, our customers, asset support teams and functional partners to meet operational goals

Positively shape culture in alignment with the BHP Values

Lead a diverse team to deliver HSE, production and quality, and cost performance to deliver our business plan commitments and strategic goals

Identify, build and develop team capability through ongoing and regular coaching and development

Encourage and promote continuous improvement in our work practices, driving performance using the BHP Operating System
About You
Your demonstrated experience in leading a diverse team in a complex operational environment will contribute to your success in this role.
Excellent communication, engagement and influencing skills will enable you to quickly establish effective and collaborative relationships while your focus on safety leadership, continuous improvement, inclusion, and risk management will ensure the existing culture of safety excellence and optimal operational delivery is maintained.
In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:

A background in leadership and management within a similar operational environment.

A science, engineering and/or trade qualification within a relevant discipline
-
Foundational leadership experience and engagement of teams that support high quality and engaged delivery
-
Experience implementing continuous improvement strategies with financial and commercial acumen
-
The ability to engage and find positive outcomes with internal and external stakeholders
-
Experience and knowledge working across a broad range of disciplines including HSE, Commercial, Contract Management, Project Management, Operations and Maintenance
