About the role
As Manager Project Delivery- Technical, you will provide coaching across the technical delivery streams of Rio Tinto’s Modern ERP (SAP S/4HANA) program. This role is critical to ensuring the technology foundations are planned, integrated and delivered in a controlled, predictable and business‑ready way.
This role is designed for an experienced Project Manager leader who excels at leading complex delivery rather than building solutions themselves. You’ll bring strong delivery discipline, clear governance and confidence in navigating technical complexity—ensuring teams stay aligned, risks are proactively managed and delivery outcomes support a successful business go‑live.
You’ll lead and coach a team of Project Managers delivering technical workstreams such as data, integration, reporting, security and environments, while working closely with architects, IS&T teams and Systems Integrators to maintain alignment between design intent and execution.
What you’ll be doing
Lead and coach a team of Delivery Managers delivering technical ERP workstreams end‑to‑end
Own integrated project delivery planning, including schedules, resourcing, sequencing, and dependencies
Maintain strong oversight of delivery risks, issues, and cross‑stream impacts, resolving barriers early
Ensure technical solutions are stable, integrated, and ready to support testing, adoption, and go‑live
Partner closely with architects, IS&T teams, and GPOs to align technical strategy with delivery execution
Drive delivery performance across scope, cost, time, and quality through clear governance and reporting
Manage Systems Integrator and vendor performance within a commercial delivery model
Provide confident day‑to‑day leadership by setting priorities, unblocking teams, and enabling delivery success
What you’ll bring
Strong program and project delivery leadership experience in complex, enterprise environments
Direct accountability for delivery planning, scheduling, resourcing, and performance
Experience delivering large‑scale digital or ERP programs (ERP experience is essential)
Technical delivery fluency, with the ability to engage confidently across data, integration, and platforms
Strong risk, dependency, and issue management capability across multi‑stream delivery
Experience working with Systems Integrators and vendors in commercially governed environments
SAP experience is highly desirable, ideally SAP S/4HANA
