About the Role
We are actively seeking the talents of a dynamic, influential and experienced leader to join the Western Australian Iron Ore Rail Leadership team in the capacity of Manager – Rail Network Capacity.
Reporting to the General Manager, Rail - in this key position, you will be responsible for delivering Rail network and associated rollingstock capacity to meet long term supply chain demand.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Asset Management Planning for above and below rail assets
- Own and optimise the Rail network concept of operations and maintenance
- Deliver Operations Readiness for projects affecting network performance and capacity
- Provide expert safety leadership incorporating safety and risk management
- Nurture a positive, safe, and productive team environment
- Prioritise the development of employees through coaching and mentoring
- Pro-actively leverage the BHP Operating System to deliver outcomes
About You
Your demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring professional, multidisciplinary teams in a complex operational environment will contribute to your success in this role.
Your excellent communication and influencing skills will enable you to quickly establish effective and collaborative relationships while your focus on safety leadership, continuous improvement, inclusion, and risk management will contribute to your success in this role
The successful applicant will also have:
- Relevant tertiary engineering qualification
- Substantial leadership and relevant Rail industry/organisational experience
- Substantial prior experience across rail maintenance and asset management
- A proven track-record of safety and risk management.
- Working knowledge of Rail Safety National Law Act & Regulations.
- Solid understanding of the operational requirements within a rail network.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial literacy
- Highly developed analytical, problem solving and decision making ability
Location
In this role you will have the option of living residentially based in the coastal town of Port Hedland or FIFO from Perth, Western Australia on a 5/2/4/3 roster.
Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia. The 15,000-strong population enjoys well-established education services, entertainment, shopping and medical facilities.
The excellent sporting and leisure facilities include; a new aquatic centre, sports stadium and water play park. Its beaches and mangroves are home to an abundance of fish and other wildlife. Within driving distance are the spectacular Broome, Karratha and Karijini national Park. Should you select the residential option you will be provided with a rental accommodation allowance in accordance with BHP Iron Ore’s Housing policy.
