About the Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager you will lead a team focused on the management and delivery of land rehabilitation, remediation and mine closure execution activities. Team (s) leadership will focus on the design, optimisation, planning and scheduling of open cut or underground mine sites to support decision making for mine progression.  This will include Care and maintenance of environmental conditions and hazard management for South Blackwater, including execution of rehabilitation as per plans, and execution of EIP environmental compliance commitments to regulators.

Key Responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Monitors HSE compliance and applies appropriate standards to deliver effective land rehabilitation, remediation and mine closure projects across BHP.  
  • Monitors and manage execution performance to deliver projects in line with safety standards, requirements, budget and scope.  
  • Collaborates with peers to contribute to the delivery of outcomes and KPIs across the Site Rehabilitation team.  
  • Prepare for and execute maintenance activities, carry out post execution tasks and eliminates defects to facilitate reliable and efficient maintenance operations across BHP.  
  • Identify and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.  
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:  

  • Engineering or Environmental Science – Bachelor's degree or above
  • Project Management, Environmental management.
  • Experience with project management and execution of EIP commitments to regulatory bodies for environmental works.
  • Supervisory experience in a mining or civil earth-works environment 
  • Experience managing Environmental impacts and maintaining to acceptable level.
  • Strong communication, advanced influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in Independent management of small projects would be beneficial.
