About the Role

Provides leadership to a global team focussed on consistent and effective application of Risk Management across the BHP project portfolio including identification and mitigation of risk in line with BHP compliance standards and requirements to drive value, safety and optimised outcomes. Translates Global PMO Risk Management strategy into operational plans for the department.

Key Accountabilities are: •    Deliver and maintain risk methodology standardisation across the global BHP project portfolio •    Coach delivery teams on the application of BHP’s risk management framework by supporting, challenging and verifying risk identification and risk management activities, at all levels •    Build and develop risk management capability and maintain a strong risk culture across regions/projects •    Support Material Risk and Control Owners to establish compliance in line with BHP Risk framework including review of material risks and effectiveness data •    Coordinate review of PCoE lead KRIs and Group Risk Completeness reviews •    Manage the global Risk Management resource pool to deliver risk management deliverables in support of project delivery  •    Establish the Risk Management Community of Practise to ensure collaboration, development and a dedicated support network for PMO professionals within BHP •    Support the newly integrated BHP Project Risk Management Tool (ARM) and deliver increased transparency of complete project risk profiles in a standardised format •    Identify and eliminate any inefficiencies related to BHP’s current project risk management framework to increase productivity and efficiency  •    Identify, engage and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders •    Actively engage and develop capabilities within the Global PMO Risk team through training, education and ongoing improvement activities    This role can be located in Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Saskatoon or Santiago

About You

Essential experience to be successful in this role is:

•    Proven experience in establishing and sustaining standardisation of Risk Management practise across a program/portfolio of projects in varying delivery phases •    In-depth understanding of BHP Risk Management practices, as well as project management, data analysis and continuous improvement •    Demonstrated ability to navigate BHP Risk based systems/tools to analyse information and report to varying stakeholders across BHP •    Proven ability to lead large-scale process changes, drive simplicity and optimisation in a complex organisational environment •    Understanding of best practise Risk Management concepts that will build maturity and increase awareness of the importance of risk management to our BHP invest
