About the role:

We are currently seeking a Manager / Senior Manager Financial Analysis & Planning based at our Brisbane office. Reporting to the Director of Mine finance, the scope of the role will be to manage the Financial Planning group in the day to day activities inclusive of, but not limited to, the weekly and monthly Business Performance reporting and review, regular forecasting, annual 5-year budget and life of mine preparation.

Duties will include:

  • Consolidate and prepare forecast and budget data reporting
  • Prepare numerous supplemental schedules that include the Performance Summary Appendix, Income Statements and Revenue
  • Assist with preparation and/or review of the monthly Business Performance review materials
  • Review capital expenditures for projects submitted by the Business Units; ensure proper authorization signatures and supplemental information is included for appropriate approvals
  • Assist with SG&A forecast and budget processes
  • Perform analysis of actual and forecast results along with other key operating statistics
  • Serve as primary contact for internal and external auditors by providing necessary support and documentation as requested
  • Assist with the quarterly earnings process
  • Assist in various ad hoc analyses as requested or required

This position is a full-time role, working Monday - Friday from our corporate office in South Brisbane. Peabody offers flexible work policies, including hybrid office/home working arrangements and opportunity to finish at noon on Fridays.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Two to three years relevant work experience
  • Experience in financial planning, principles of consolidation.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical ability with high attention to detail
  • Self-starter with ability to act and make decisions independently and provide related support
  • Excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines and able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Proficiency with SAP and query language strongly preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; particularly strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to build positive working relationships across both operational and corporate functions globally
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with other departments and team members globally
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills to quickly and effectively resolve issues
  • Ability to work overtime as required
