About the Role

Reporting to Head of Legal and Commercial Australia and delivering service day to day to General Manager for a portfolio and underground mining projects.  

Key Accountabilities

• Providing strategic leadership in the development, implementation and assurance of project controls within the Perenti Contract Mining Division.
• Develop Project Controls management system that achieves the objective of understanding the true position of a project in terms of its financial and physical progress at any point in time and forecasted position at end of project term against tender and budget schedules and cost.
• Determine the minimum project management controls required to project controls management system contract management processes and record keeping and physical progress and cost reporting to achieve it.
• Implement project controls management system through engagement with operations, contract engineering, scheduling and estimating, finance, commercial and technology teams.
• Provide project controls advice to projects
• Report on project controls and processes and undertake assurance.
• Support project teams in producing reports for financial review including analysis of budget, cost/revenue, cost to complete, variations, progress, and contractual claims  

Key Requirements:

• Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or similar tertiary qualifications e.g. Project Management or Commercial would be preferable
• At least 10 years experience within a construction or mining organisation is preferred with strong exposure to contract management, cost control, scheduling and estimating
• At least 5 years’ demonstrable experience with Program Controls in a large, complex organisation
• Demonstrated competency in managing and implementing programs of work through information gathering, consultation and implementation engagement with various stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience in provision of reports, defining problems, collecting data, alignment of data collection with requirements for automated reporting through ERPs and other technologies
• High level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
