About the Role

The main purpose of this role is to manage the architects, systems engineers and architect service team members while supporting the talent and capability journey for the team, including capability development framework and knowledge management. 

Report to the Head of Minerals Australia Engineering, your responsibilities include:

  • Chairing of the Minerals Australia East Architecture Panel. Designing and implementation of governance/ assurance practices and procedures to ensure technology strategic alignment, including alignment to cloud and data strategies. 
  • Ensuring that architecture governance and standards provide for velocity, removing constraints. 
  • Global architectural decisions as a voting member of the global Technology Architecture Board.
  • Supporting the development of Asset Architecture Roadmaps. Translating corporate objectives into actionable plans, communicating, managing and analysing the implementation of those plans, and reporting back on their progress to facilitate the delivery of our strategy.   
  • Capability management, prioritising work effort, resources and budgets.   
  • Identifying, engaging and managing a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders. Liaising with Asset Project Delivery Groups (PDG’s), Technology & Digital Factories across Minerals Australia in support of Architecture governance, standards and technical stewardship. 
  • Designing and continuously improving the Architecture Operating Model (Processes, People, Systems) to build the in-house consultant arm to support all strategic initiatives. 
  • Developing and/or articulating and sustaining the new ways of working framework, tools and processes, ensuring human centric design and customer centric solutions. 
  • Assessing change impacts to prepare integrated change management plans, managing change readiness and resistance, and upskilling managers and impacted stakeholders in the adoption and successful delivery of the change.   

About the Team

The team consists of ~25 team members in the East and consists of permanent, contract and outsourced contract providers.

The team provides architecture and Engineering services.

About You

  • Customer centricity focused.
  • Excellent Leadership skills.
  • Strong experience in a technology role.
  • Understanding of mining business operations and processes.
  • Understanding of IT and operational technology (OT).
  • Relevant experience in an architecture or technical role.
  • Architecture experience & qualification (any of below) are nice to have:

               - TOGAF (Open Group) or similar, e.g. Zachman Certified Architect, Open Group Certified Architect

               - Cloud Platform Solution Architect Certification (e.g. AWS | Azure)                - Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)                - Sherwood Applied Business Security Architecture (SABSA) Certification                - Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Certification                - Product Vendor Technology Certification, e.g. Archimate Certification (Open Group); Oracle; Microsoft; OISISoft, etc
