Manager Technology Project Delivery

About the Role 

The role of Manager Technology Project Delivery within the Contract Mining technology function has been established to develop and implement a fit for purpose project delivery framework across “small”, “medium” and “large” projects and take accountability for delivery of “large” sized technology projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a project delivery framework to align and help ensure success of contract mining technology projects.
• Provide advice and thought leadership to ensure successful design and implementation of technology solutions, ensuring they align to company goals and strategies.
• Ensure that project purpose scope and objectives are clear and linked to the functions broader vision, strategy, and operational roadmap.
• Manage the E2E planning and delivery of “large” capital project from initiation through to acceptance.
• Manage permanent and/or contractor project delivery resources to ensure project outcomes are delivered.
• Manage interdependencies and coordination across programs and projects to ensure that information in relation to deliverables, risks and issues are effectively communicated between stakeholders.
• Build and support collaborative and mutually supportive relationships within technical, operational and C level stakeholders.
• Development of a project delivery methodology and governance model suitable for small, medium, and large contract mining technology projects.
• Identify, estimate, and present cost, budget, schedule, and business / project risk for each project.
• Oversee delivery of “large” capital funded contract mining projects in accordance with agreed schedule and budget estimates.
• Management of BAU or contractor resources who are assigned to project delivery tasks.
• Measure and analyse project delivery metrics in collaboration with other delivery leads. Produce monthly project status reports and dash boards detailing project status, cost, schedule, risks, and issues.
• Mentor and coach team members, conduct performance reviews, and participate in hiring processes to build a high-performing team.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Demonstrated project management skills and experience in delivering successful project outcomes.
• Project Management qualification such as Prince 2, PMP or PMIBOK.
• Experience delivering communication and/or mining system projects into greenfield or brownfield mining operations.
• People leadership skills to empower team members to successfully delivery and further develop contract mining’s collaborative team culture.
• Proven negotiation, consultation, facilitation and written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Understanding of operational functions, priorities, and policies and apply this understanding when planning and delivering project tasks.

Education, Qualifications & Training

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mining or related Business discipline.
• Change management training (Desirable)
• Minimum of 3 years in underground mining experience (Desirable)
