About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager Engineering, the Manager Training and Business Standards will be responsible for leading the Training and Business Standards team. This role offers a chance to be part of a dynamic team, collaborating on exciting projects in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Using your experience, you will lead teams in delivering:
- competency-based training materials,
- delivery of inductions and safety related training to groups.
- ensuring training materials are maintained in line with business and industry standards and statutory requirements.
- ensuring technical training is implemented as planned.
- conducting Verification of Competencies (VOC) on specific equipment and/or HRWLs to ensure new team members are competent and authorised to work.
The Training and Business Standards Team’s objective is to deliver best-class training planning, resourcing, and delivery across all Nickel West teams. This role will interface with all enterprises within Nickel West to providing quality training and assessment activities to ensure all our team members are safe, efficient and productive.
You will also be a pivotal member of the Engineering Leadership team to ensure alignment to Nickel West Strategic priorities. This role works across all Nickel West locations and interfaces across multiple levels of leadership within the Asset.
About You
We are looking for individuals that possess business knowledge, demonstrate excellence in leadership on a day-to-day basis, who are innovative with a bias to action, effectively influence others, and have a strong ability to build capability in others and lead change.
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Strong and demonstrated experience in leadership roles, ideally with a background in Training and Business Standards, the skills and desire to build successful teams and nurture a high-performance culture.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across a range of teams.
- The ability to effectively identify opportunities to increase value and eliminate hazards, waste, and variability.
- Demonstrating commitment and conformance to the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
- Ability to engage with all levels of the business from frontline employees to higher-level management.
- Although it is desirable that you already have Continuous Improvement experience, you will receive full BOS Immersion training to support your role and ongoing mentoring and guidance from experienced Coaches to ensure your success.
Location
This is a full-time permanent position, based in Perth with site travel.
- This position is open for applicants with Full Working rights in Australia/New Zealand or willing to relocate to Australia.
