Manufacturing Quality and Continuous Improvement Lead

Work Location: Gladstone, QLD

Roster: Monday to Friday

Establish and maintain a quality and continuous improvement culture within the Gladstone Electrolyser Facility, by ensuring our production processes comply with company’s quality objectives and implement continuous improvement. To achieve this, you will be hands on assuring and controlling quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Develop and deploy the Quality strategy, objectives and targets in alignment with FFI's business goals
  • Develop and deploy the Continuous Improvement strategy, preferably using Lean Six Sigma (L6S) methodology.
  • Report on proactive / reactive quality metrics and recommend and implement improvement actions
  • Implement and maintain ideal Quality Management System, based on ISO 9001 or other standards as applicable. QMS system to encompass all business processes and activities
  • Implement and manage pre-functional and functional test processes and protocols for testing of hydrogen electrolysers
  • Lead and coach teams on problem solving, root cause analysis and Lean Six Sigma activities
  • Manage after sales service process to ensure customer issues are resolved quickly and defects found analysed and eliminated to prevent re-occurrence
  • Develop and deploy policies, regulations and processes that are effective in developing a Culture of Quality. Support senior business management to ensure that the operational approach and system of business management are continually evaluated for effectiveness.
  • Monitor and utilise analytics of quality data from all parts of the business to identify systemic risks, failures and non-conformances within the businesses. Ensure that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are taken, and solutions are managed to closure
  • Provide training and coaching to create a team that is sustainably staffed, developed and directed to support the activities within the business

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, industrial, mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering
  • Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in leading and delivering quality-focused outcomes in a mass production manufacturing environment
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certified
  • Experience with lean manufacturing techniques, Kaizen and 5S
  • Experience using QA software tools and processes and automatically controlled processes
  • Desirable - Sound knowledge of PPAP, SPC
  • Desirable - Proven experience in implementing ISO9001 or equivalent certifications
  • Desirable - Demonstrated experience to work independently within stringent EH&S measures
