About the Role

Join the Nelson Point Ore Car Maintenance (NPOCM) team as a Material Logistics Officer, where you will play a key role in coordinating materials and logistics to support safe, reliable and efficient maintenance operations.

Reporting to the Superintendent NPOCM, you will be responsible for ensuring maintenance activities have the required parts and materials available when needed, while managing inventory, goods movements and logistics activities. This role is suited to a proactive and self-motivated individual with strong problem-solving skills, excellent organisational abilities and a genuine commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include:

• An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development
• Ensure hazard / risk identification for tasks performed, the development of required controls and verification that identified controls are in place and working
• Proactively manage Back to Basics and Field Leadership expectations
• Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct, the Rail Rule Book, and other relevant statutory obligations
• Contribute to and implement Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Perform maintenance & service activities on ore car components
• Ensuring planned tasks have the required parts by follow, tracking and escalating delays with materials delivery
• Managing order confirmation, receipt, and receivable of goods inwards
• Managing items dispatch, and return not use parts for storage or credit

About You

Ability to engage, communicate and collaborate with other work groups

Identifying opportunities for improvement and proactively solving them

• Ability to priorities and manage your time effectively
• Mandatory Forklift Driver’s License
• Mandatory C class manual drivers’ licence, HR / HR-B Advantageous
• Working experience with computer-based ordering and procurement systems, such as SAP
• Demonstrated logistics and planning experience in a related industry
• Experience with operation and maintenance management
