Position Title: Mechanical Engineer
Work Location: Cloudbreak. Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 8/6 - FIFO ex Perth
Fortescue is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Engineering and Reliability team at Cloudbreak Ore Processing Facility (OPF). The right candidate will be motivated and strive for improvement by applying good engineering techniques, data analysis and defect elimination.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Liaison with relevant departments to provide technical solutions and support
- Support the Capital projects team through management of project designs
- Complete Root Cause Analysis and Defect Elimination
- Ensure correct application of Health & Safety standards including Change Management
- Review and improve maintenance strategies of fixed plant assets
- Achieve targets set for defined sections of area budgets
Qualifications and skills required:
- Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience, preferably in Fixed Plant Ore Processing facility
- Site experience in iron ore processing equipment such as crushers, vibrating screens, conveyors etc is preferable.
- Strong conceptual thinking and analytical focus
- Proven experience with leading root cause analysis investigations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and continual improvement focus
- Knowledge of relevant Mines legislations and regulations
- Great communication skills
- Planning, organisational, budgeting, scheduling and coordination skills
