About the Role:

Our purpose is to accelerate safety and productivity performance across our Western Australia sites, embracing inclusion and diversity to create a vibrant culture that represents the communities in which we live.

This role will be FIFO from Perth and working across multiple Iron Ore sites. We currently have multiple opportunities available for safety-focused Mechanical Fitters to join the OS family. You will demonstrate extensive experience within a fixed plant maintenance environment and the ability to provide detailed scoping and maintenance execution for multi-disciplined workgroups.

These roles will be working a dynamic roster (182 shifts per year). More information can be found here.

This position will include but is not limited to; 

  • Ability to work within a team and build effective relationships
  • Demonstrate experience in fixed plant maintenance 
  • Interpretation of drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
  • Execute high quality maintenance, service, and repair work across our Pilbara assets
  • Ability to clearly communicate and problem solve
  • Follow maintenance strategies and specific procedures
  • Experience or a fast learner with work management software tools (e.g. 1SAP) 
  • Contribution to a safe BHP work environment by participating in field leadership activities, take 5’s, JHAs and toolbox talks.
  • Work alongside Supervisors and Line Engineers to improve our ways or working and influence change

About you:

We are looking for the following talents:

  • Trade Certificate relevant to your skillset is required – Fitter and Turner
  • Experience in Shutdowns and or Fixed Plant Maintenance
  • Able to commit to a 182 dynamic roster
  • Highly safety focused
  • Dedicated and enthusiastic
  • Keen to learn with a willingness for self-improvement
  • Ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure
