About the role
We are seeking a Mechanical Maintainer to join our team at West Angelas. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining our assets, working within the maintenance management framework, and applying work management processes. You will carry out maintenance tasks assigned through the Rio Tinto Business Solution (RTBS).

As part of a supportive team, you’ll be guided by your Supervisor to help you achieve both your personal goals and the objectives of the team. The position offers a roster of 8 days on, 6 days off (days only), providing you with more time to focus on what matters most in your life.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Mechanical, your responsibilities will include:
Safely carry out inspections, scheduled maintenance and breakdown maintenance to Utilities Assets including:
Diesel fuel and lubricant infrastructure
Light vehicle, heavy vehicle, and locomotive refuelling facilities
Bulk fuel depot storage facilities including rail decant and road gantry.
Lubricant storage and pumping equipment
Fuel quality testing
Maintenance
Hydrocarbons wastewater treatment equipment
Oily water separators
Compressed air systems
Ensuring that maintenance is of a high quality and re-work is not required.
Use SAP to raise notifications, complete time confirm and enter reliability and maintenance activity information
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will:
Understanding of RTIO safety systems and demonstrated strong health & safety performance.
Trade qualified Mechanical
Background in industrial mechanical maintenance
Western Australian C class driver’s licence
Very customer focussed with a collaborative approach.
It would also be highly desirable, if you have the below :
Experience in hydrocarbon operations and maintenance
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and SAP
Western Australian Heavy Rigid driver’s licence
High Risk Work Licences in LF, CV, DG, RG

Where you’ll be working
Located 110km west of Newman, West Angelas operates on a fly in fly out roster from Perth or Busselton.
West Angelas is a pioneer in autonomous technologies – we were the first site to trial autonomous haul trucks and incorporate autonomous drilling into our operations in 2008, and we continue to have one of the largest mining fleets in the Pilbara.
Our high grade, low phosphorous Marra Mamba orebody is an integral part of the Pilbara Blend, contributing both lump and fines products on around four trains each day. At the West Angelas hub there are state-of-the-art power generation and refueling facilities. These facilities supply power and diesel fuel to the East Pilbara mine sites.
The future is bright at West Angelas with ongoing growth projects at Deposits C and D, as well as additional deposits under study providing enormous opportunities for personal development and career growth.
