Our Cadia site is located in Central West New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy. Who we are looking for

As a passionate and technically astute Mechanical Reliability Engineer, you will support maintenance and reliability services to our mechanical fixed plant and infrastructure assets at our Cadia Mine. Reporting to the Senior Reliability Engineer, this rewarding opportunity will play a key role in ensuring availability, utilisation and effectiveness of plant equipment on the surface and underground. It will also see you utilise your expertise towards managing the installation and commissioning of small capital works and plant modifications as required.

Your fixed plant & mining infrastructure maintenance experience will empower you to deliver highly effective reliability centred maintenance strategies, based on condition monitoring programs and develop asset management plans for mechanical assets

You have the ability to quickly identify and mitigate potential hazards and lead mechanical fault finding and failure analysis procedures, including  Root Cause Analysis

You will also assist in breakdown investigations and be accountable to improve asset reliability and availability.

Additional key responsibilities of the role include:  

  • Ensuring continuous improvement of mechanical plant and infrastructure systems through analysis of performance data, downtime records, and incidents
  • Condition monitoring of critical mechanical equipment
  • Investigate equipment failures through a structured RCA process and identify and implement solutions
  • Ensuring adherence with Australian standards and relevant site specifications

To succeed in this role, you will be detail oriented, enjoy continuous improvement and have the drive to deliver consistent results. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the innate ability to communicate effectively upwards and to operational levels, along with the following:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Demonstrable understanding of reliability engineering and asset life planning strategies
  • Execution experience in fixed plant equipment maintenance
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with asset integrity management systems
  • Exposure and knowledge of the NSW WHS (M&PS) Legislation and Australian Standards

Please note: The current roster for this role is 5 days on/2 days off; with an on-call component approximately one weekend per month - thus we do require candidate to be locally based in Orange, NSW or surrounding areas.
