Located in the Great Sandy Desert in East Pilbara, Telfer is a fly in out fly out operation from Perth which recognizes the importance of work-life balance.  Our comfortable, well furnished rooms include Foxtel, and our site offers quality food with healthy options, medical care, sports and recreation activities. Who we are looking for

Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, this permanent role will assist with reactive and preventative maintenance for ore-processing plant to ensure maximum efficiency of equipment and high plant utilisation. You will be responsible for maintaining assets under your control to ensure safe, sustainable and reliable performance in line with Asset Management best practices and compliance with regulations and Newcrest’s policies.

Other key deliverables of this role include:

• To carry out maintenance tasks in the mill area, including mechanical and fabrication work on mills, pumps, agitators, filtration presses, cyclones, hydraulic equipment etc
• Fabrication maintenance/Projects of the mill processing facility
• Diagnose and report equipment failure or fatigue to maintain plant efficiency and reliability carry out and complete scheduled maintenance tasks in a timely manner to a high standard
• Effectively carry out and complete scheduled maintenance tasks in a timely and orderly manner
• To demonstrate an uncompromised commitment to safety to achieve a workplace target of zero injuries and incidents

In addition to the above key skills, you will also ideally have:  

• Relevant Trade Qualification as a Boilermaker or Welder
• Proven mine site experience with exposure to fixed-plant maintenance
• Competency in Fabrication, MMAW, GTAW ,FCAW and lancing procedures
• Able to interpret and follow engineering drawings
• Computer literacy and basic understanding of SAP or similar maintenance systems
• A Manual C Class Manual Driver's License is required, HR Licence will be an advantage
• EWP/Forklift/Franna Crane/Rigging/ Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets

Please note: This is a permanent full-time role at our Telfer mine site, FIFO from Perth on an 8 days on /6 off/ 7 nights on and 7 off roster.
