Operations near and far

Our Cadia site is located in Central West New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy. Employees have access to the area’s wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector, excellent educational facilities, shopping, recreation activities, transport, and other services such as childcare.

Who we are looking for

We are now seeking experienced Fixed Plant Maintenance Outage Technicians to join the Surface Fixed Plant Maintenance Team.

Reporting to the Specialist - Module Shutdown, you will contribute to the successful delivery of designated outages & improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Working with all groups within CVO and contractor groups to promote continuous improvement
  • The implementation and management of fixed plant continuous improvement strategies and projects
  • To assist and facilitate development of outage planning and scheduling of specific enhancements projects
  • To ensure that the weekly shutdown readiness report is meeting the target set, week in and out
  • Ensuring quality assurance and quality controls are maintained during fixed plant maintenance outages and major breakdowns
  • To ensure all plant and equipment faults are reported, documented and managed

Skills and experience

  • Experience in Fixed Plant Mining (Crushing, Grinding, Conveying & Processing)
  • The ability to identify major hazards within assigned tasks and implement the correct critical controls prior to starting any work
  • Basic computer skills and experience with SAP or similar system would be advantageous
  • Behaviour consistent with Newcrest values
  • Leadership ability with demonstrated previous supervisory experience
  • Well-developed communication and influencing skills
  • Able to work under pressure and deliver against deadlines
  • Strong analytical ability
  • A working knowledge of mining, minerals processing and maintenance processes

 Please note: This is a permanent fulltime role based in Orange, NSW. You will be required to work a 5D/2X roster.
