Mechanical Shutdown Planner      

Work Location: Chichester Hub – Christmas Creek; Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

Roster: 8D6R ex Perth

Reporting to the OPF Senior Planner, the Weekly Mechanical Planner will be responsible for developing and managing mechanical maintenance plans and schedules, liaising with Mechanical Supervisors and internal/external stakeholders to ensure that labour capacity and execution team loading is in line with available resources for at FMG Christmas Creek Iron Ore Operation.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Communication of plans to both maintenance and operational personnel
  • Review and seek information from internal and external customers to ensure all plans are relevant.
  • Prepare work schedules for areas of responsibility and assign and communicate priorities.
  • Liaise with peers (from a variety of disciplines) to provide assistance during project work.
  • Develop long term maintenance plans for Mechanical assets.
  • Creating and managing systems data for Mechanical assets and department
  • Working with the team members to continually improve Planning/Scheduling to assist with shutdown management processes.

 Qualifications and skills required:

  • Proven experience in Fixed Plant Maintenance planning
  • Working experience with Maintenance Management Systems – experience with SAP and Projects within the last 2 years is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated use of MS Excel, Outlook, and Project
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present plans and ideas in a clear and concise manner.  
  • Work within a team environment including liaising with Planners, Engineering and Operations to ensure work orders are reviewed and planned.
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Highly developed analytical skills with the ability to solve practical problems.
  • Current WA Drivers Licence
