Seeking an experienced underground Emergency Services Operator to join our Darlot team.

The Darlot mine is located about 900 km northeast of Perth and 121 km north of Leonora, in the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
Reporting to the OSH&T Superintendent, the Emergency Services Officer/Medic is to assist the OHST department with Emergency Management systems, training and support to fulfil site duties and obligations for the well-being of Vault employees and contractors. The role will be responsible for developing and maintaining processes for mines rescue including training schedules and equipment maintenance. The role is also responsible for daily medical compliance and ensuring the medical centre is well stocked and up to date.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Educate and guide site personnel on best practices to maintain a healthy body and mind
- Provide up to date training programs in line with requirements for Cert III in Mines Rescue
- Recruit, motivate and engage new and existing members of the Darlot Emergency Response Team
- Provide an efficient and confidential medical service to site-based personnel
- Participate and coordinate Incident investigations, workplace inspections and audits
- Coordination of Injury management and return to work programs
- Coordinate, inspect & maintain all rescue and emergency equipment, First Aid clinics, first aid equipment, ambulances and medical stock to ensure compliance with manufacturer, regulatory & company standards
- Conduct Fitness for Work testing programs
- Maintain the site Emergency Response Plan and related Procedures
- Maintain currency with industry best practice in safety and emergency response
- Assist in facilitating the review and development of an approved Emergency Management Training Improvement Plan
- Deliver general site emergency response training programs, Emergency & Crisis Management Team training and exercises to site Teams
About You
- Minimum 5 years' experience working in a similar position, including 3+ years working in an underground or open pit mine environment.
- HLT41120 Certificate IV in Health Care (Essential)
- Formal Qualifications in Emergency Response (Cert III) - Hazchem, BA, Fire, Road Crash Rescue, Heights & Confined Space Rescue, Closed Circuit Breathing Apparatus (Essential)
- Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite with strong computer literacy of safety & database management systems and INX suite
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills
- Chem-Alert Administrator would be an advantage
- ICAM or Tap-Root Investigation Training would be preferred
- Certificate IV of Training and Assessing (Desirable)
- Current WA "C" Class driver’s licence.
