About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Reliability, within the Mining Equipment Maintenance team, the focus of the MEM Reliability Specialist will include the following:
- Drives business improvement through the measurement of BHP's performance
- Develops, optimises and governs asset/maintenance strategies to drive continuous improvement and replication of best practices across assets and equipment while optimising value for the long term
- Develops budgets and forecasts through the use of equipment life cycle modelling and based on the preventative and corrective maintenance work strategies in 1SAP
- Translates corporate objectives into actionable plans, communicating, managing and analysing the implementation of those plans, and reporting back on their progress to facilitate the delivery of our strategy.
- Facilitates the development, implementation and maintenance of common standards including improvements to processes and systems
- Executes defect elimination rhythms and routines, ensuring triggered events are reviewed, investigated, actions implemented and monitored for effectiveness
- Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.
About You
You are an enthusiastic, team oriented and outcome focused individual with highly developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships. You are passionate about safety with a strong understanding of safe operations and safe behavior fundamentals.
An analytical problem solver you will bring experience with continuous improvement methodologies and an understanding of standardized work practices. In addition, you will possess the following skills and experience:
- Self-reliant contributor with proficiency in the Mining Equipment Maintenance area and a minimum experience of between 6 months and 1 year. Requires detailed knowledge of principles and concepts related to operating and maintaining operational equipment and limited knowledge of other functions (3 years' experience in a relevant role preferred)
- Experience in Mining Equipment fleet (Liebherr, Caterpillar & EPIROC) preferred
- Experience in reliability maintenance programs will be beneficial (Asset Performance Management).
- Demonstrated experience using 1SAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Power Point, Excel, One Note, Share Point)
- Competent in 1SAP and FIORI (specifically work management modules).
- Competent in problem solving methodology relating to reliability maintenance (Root Cause Analysis)
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skill
- The ability to influential change and drive Best Practice
- Effective communication and ability to build strong working relationships
- The ability to work well under pressure and consistently meet multiple deadlines
Location
This role is based on a residential basis in Newman or fly-in fly-out from Perth.
You will be working at ‘Newman Operations’ mine site, which at more than five kilometres long and nearly 1.5 kilometres wide is the biggest single-pit open-cut iron ore mine in the world. The 7,000 strong population of Newman enjoys well-established town facilities including a newly revitalised town centre and sporting facilities. As a gateway to the Karijini National Park, you will be in close proximity to spectacular gorges, water courses and stunningly unique landscapes.
