About the role
Join our inclusive Dampier Metallurgical Evaluation department as an Operator, Metallurgical Evaluation.
This position involves conducting minerals processing testwork using a variety of bench and pilot-scale metallurgical testing equipment.
Based at the EII Main Laboratory facility and reporting to the Supervisor of Metallurgical Evaluation, your key responsibilities will include:
Delivering timely and accurate testwork results
Conducting testing, analysis, and providing feedback in accordance with established procedures
Supporting inventory management for bulk stored samples, including sample receipt and dispatch
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of procedures for laboratory and bulk handling facilities
Sharing your expertise to ensure the effective operation and optimal use of plant and equipment

What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
Current High Risk license – forklift (LF) – desirable
Previous laboratory experience – desirable
C Class license – HR license desirable
Strong oral & written communication skills
Computer literacy skills with MS office products
Good attention to details
Ability to work effectively both within a team and independently with minimal supervision
Logical thinking
Excellent stakeholder engagement

Where you’ll be working
This role will be offered residential in the heart of Dampier / Karratha, where you will work at our Dampier Ports operation on an even time roster, 5 days off, 5 days on, 4 days off, 5 days on.

The region is known for its stunning natural beauty, including the nearby Karijini National Park, Millstream-Chichester National Park, and the Burrup Peninsula with its ancient rock art. The coastal location provides opportunities for fishing, boating, and exploring the beautiful Dampier Archipelago.
Karratha is a vibrant town with excellent amenities, including quality schools, healthcare facilities, and a range of recreational activities. The area is also a gateway to some of Western Australia’s most iconic tourist destinations, such as Exmouth, Coral Bay and Broome which are all within driving distance, making it an ideal place for both work and leisure.
Our port facilities consist of four shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading.
