Operations near and far 

Our Cadia site is located in Central West New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange and three hours’ drive from Sydney. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy.

Employees have access to the area’s wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector, excellent educational facilities, shopping, transport and other services such as childcare.

Who we’re looking for 

Reporting into the Leading Hand – Metallurgical Technician, the primary purpose of this position is to provide support to the plant metallurgy and operating team to ensure consistent metallurgical and operational performance of the concentrators.

A few key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing laboratory and plant test work, using a range of analytical techniques and equipment to support production quality control programs.
  • Participating in concentrator surveys, including sample taking and preparation.
  • Complete quality assurance and control test work conducted by offsite, contract assay laboratory(s) to protect the integrity of offsite test work.
  • Maintaining accurate and reliable records relevant to the metallurgical laboratory, including electronic and paper-based. 

Our ideal applicant will have high attention to detail in problem solving and troubleshooting, along with the ability to approach tasks with tenacity and deliver to customer requirements. You will also have a safety-first approach and demonstrated success in improving the business through continuous improvement.

Experience in the mineral processing operations would be desirable, however we are open to applications from those with a laboratory, processing, or mining background.  A certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques will be highly advantageous.

In addition, you will also have:

  • Demonstrable competency in the use of MS Office 365 suite
  • Ability to consistently perform repetitive laboratory tasks
  • NSW Manual Driver’s licence
  • Forklift ticket (desirable)

Please note: This is a residential role. You will be required to work a 5 days on/2 days off roster (Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm).
