Cracow Gold Operations is an established high-grade, low-cost gold operation located near the towns of Cracow and Theodore in central Queensland, on the traditional lands of the Wulli Wulli people.  Aeris acquired Cracow Gold Operations on 1 July 2020 and holds a significant tenement package over the Cracow goldfields covering 935km2.

Role Summary

Monitor and report plant metallurgical performance and provide technical support to the production team to assist in achieving budgeted gold output. Carry out metallurgical test work and projects as required. Identify, investigate and report opportunities for increasing production and /or reducing costs.  This role reports to the Senior Metallurgist. 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report plant metallurgical performance.
  • Provide technical support to the production team to assist in achieving budgeted gold output.
  • Monitor and ensure that key plant operating parameters remain within target.
  • Monitor and ensure that consumption of process consumables remain in line with budget.
  • Ensure achievement of budget plant recoveries through agreed metallurgical accounting procedures.
  • Maintain a level of competence in all laboratory procedures to enable competent coverage of lab duties if required.
  • Carryout metallurgical test work and trials that are aimed at improving efficiencies and/or costs.
  • Provide professional, timely technical advice to mine site personnel as required.
Skills and experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Extractive Metallurgy, Metallurgy, Process Engineering, Minerals Processing or related discipline
  • Laboratory or sampling industry recognised qualification highly regarded, AAS
  • Experience in Metalliferous processing highly regarded
  • Ability to work safely at all times
  • Clear and effective communication both verbal and written 
  • Ability to work remotely and alone
  • Proficient User of Microsoft Office suite
  • Accuracy and high attention to detail
  • Analysing and interpreting data, including database development
