Mine Accountant

An opportunity exists at our operation for a Mine Accountant to join our high performing accounting team.  The position will provide accounting and commercial support to the Operation by providing in-depth commercial analysis and insight into the drivers of the key performance metrics.  As an integral member of the commercial team, you will drive a high-performance culture, and reinforce the behaviours that will underpin the success of our operation.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be primarily responsible for;

• Assisting in the development, preparation and execution of budgets, forecasts, cost models and capital expenditure plans
• Accurately preparing cost performance reports for the management team
• Coordination of month end processing and reporting
• Ensuring financial data integrity via validation, reconciliation, identification, and resolution
• Maintaining system procedures and controls to provide sound accounting support to site personnel
• Promoting and maintaining a high level of positive safety performance & workplace culture through teamwork, personal commitment, and application of the GCAA values

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Hold a Commerce degree or other related tertiary qualifications
• Have completed or are currently completing your CPA/CA qualification
• Possess an advanced understanding of the Microsoft suite of products, in particular Excel
• Possess superior written and verbal communication skills
• Have the ability to follow a plan and the resilience to adapt to a constantly changing environment
• Demonstrate a positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to working proactively
• Be a team player with an attitude for outstanding performance, and a willingness to contribute

Ravensworth Open Cut is ideally located in the NSW Hunter Valley near Singleton, 70 km north-west of Maitland, and 90 km north-west of Newcastle.
