Position Title – Superintendent Mine Control

Work Location: Perth HIVE. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster – 4D/3R days with occasional weekend coverage  

The Superintendent Mine Control provides leadership and direction to the Mine & Drill Control team to ensure that the business and mine plan objectives are safely and consistently achieved. You will be accountable for optimising the fleet management system to minimise disruption and maximise efficiency, productivity and safety.  

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Lead the team responsible Mine Control functions at the two Chichester Mines (Cloudbreak & Christmas Creek), with over 130 trucks, of which over 100 are autonomous
  • Define and implement strategies that positively shape the culture of the mine control team
  • Foster collaborative working relationships across operation and support functions that align to and achieve Fortescue’s objectives
  • Develop the mine control team towards achieving safety, productivity and cost reduction goals.

 Qualifications and skills required:

  • Demonstrated operational leadership in a mining environment
  • Strong  problem solving, stakeholder management and influencing skills at all levels
  • Demonstrated experience adapting to a dynamic environment to meet outcomes
  • Proficient knowledge and application of fleet management systems such as Minestar
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operations work methods
  • Demonstrated experience in cross-department collaboration with production, maintenance and process safety departments to maximise performance
