ABOUT Cannington
Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. Cannington mine provides on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a permanent position on a 8:6 Dayshift/Nightshift roster FIFO from Townsville, Brisbane or Cairns or DIDO Mount Isa.
We are currently seeking applications from motivated individuals to fill the position of Underground Mine Controller.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Monitor, and report on various aspects of underground operations, including movement of equipment and personnel
- Monitor and record operational data and equipment status in the PitRAM system with a high degree of accuracy
- Provide support and information to the Supervisors
- Provide and support communication links between production, maintenance, technical services, and operations personnel
- Emergency first point of contact
- General duties associated with communications and administration
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Experience in mining operations, with knowledge of daily mine workings or previous operation control room exposure
- Experience with Micromine PitRAM
- Mine site experience and understanding of safety processes and systems
- Have a high level of computer literacy and comfort with technology
- The ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
- High attention to detail and the ability to pick things up very quickly
Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills - Must have the right to work in Australia
- A commitment to a positive safety culture
