ABOUT CANNINGTON 

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. Cannington mine provides on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This is a permanent position on an 8:6 day/night shift roster, FIFO from Townsville/Brisbane/Cairns or DIDO from Mount Isa to Cannington.

As the Mine Controller, you will monitor, and report on various aspects of underground operations, including movement of equipment and personnel.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

  • Monitor and record operational data and equipment status in the PitRAM system with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Provide support and information services to the Supervisors.
  • Provide and support communication links between production, maintenance, technical services, and operational personnel.
  • Emergency first point of contact.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

  • Experience in mining operations, with knowledge of daily mine workings or previous operation control room exposure.
  • Experience with Micromine PitRAM.
  • Understanding of safety processes and systems.
  • The ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • A commitment to a positive safety culture.
